Marina Cline, MA, LCMHC-S, LMHC, PMH-C
Hello and thank you for considering Hearth Counseling & Consulting! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I am trained and specialized in reproductive and maternal mental health.
A significant part of my work focuses on working with women and their partners who are struggling with reproductive mental health, adjusting to motherhood/parenthood, trauma, mood disorders, miscarriage, infant loss, and pregnancy and postpartum concerns. I strive to create a safe and supportive space for clients to address concerns and express feelings and thoughts about motherhood and parenthood that might feel scary or otherwise ashamed to talk about. I am devoted to helping women overcome their challenges and make changes that lead to a better life.
Through a collaborative approach and evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solutions-Focused, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I help clients come up with tools to help them navigate difficult moments and adjust to their new life. Because each client is unique, so are the strengths and resources they bring to therapy. My work with client focuses on utilizing their strengths to get them to their goals to live the life they want. I work from a multicultural, anti-oppressive, and social justice lens to understand each client's uniqueness and shared identities. My therapeutic style is respect, empathy, compassion, humor, curiosity, acceptance, and understanding. Within the therapeutic relationship, I seek to gain an understanding of each client’s life by asking questions about their experiences, perceptions, and expectations.
I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College, NY. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the states of North Carolina and New York. I am passionate about learning and enhancing my clinical skills in reproductive and maternal mental health. I have completed extensive training and certification through Postpartum Support International (PSI) as a perinatal mental health provider. I am an EMDR-certified therapist.
For the past 14 years, I have worked with individuals, women, families, mothers, couples, and college students. I have gained broad-based training and experience, allowing me to work with a wide range of clinical issues. Past positions have allowed me to work in diverse clinical settings, including private practices, residential, home-based hospitals, higher education settings, and inpatient hospitals.
In addition to counseling, I also offer clinical supervision to Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associates.
I live in the Raleigh area with my partner, children, and pets. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, gardening, going for long walks, and trying new foods.
