Alli Irving, Ph.D., HSP-P, Licensed Psychologist

Hello and thanks for considering Hearth Counseling & Consulting as your provider. I am a Licensed Psychologist and am particularly skilled at treating relational and interpersonal concerns, anxiety and mood disorders, physical health concerns that impact mental health and functioning, parenting-related concerns, vocational concerns/work-life balance issues, assisting with major transitions, as well as life and stress management, and working with medical/healthcare providers and with the gender and sexual minority community. I am also a strong advocate for group therapy and love to facilitate therapy groups when I can.

I earned my doctorate in counseling psychology from Texas Tech University and am a Licensed Psychologist (health service provider) in the states of North Carolina and Georgia. I have several years of experience working with college students (both undergraduate and graduate/professional) in higher education settings and have also worked in community mental health, a hospital/cancer center, and in adult probation. I work exclusively with adults (18 years of age and up). I invest time in getting to know my clients as holistic individuals and learning about their struggles and their strengths. Treatment is individualized, as I believe each person is unique and brings their own intersection of identities to the therapy space, which impacts the presenting concerns and the course of our treatment. I use mostly Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT) and always include multiculturalism in my work. This often includes having conversations about our identities during our work together, soliciting and answering your questions, and learning about your history and values, among other things. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is a key component to change and progress in therapy, and I look forward to building a strong working relationship with each client.

In addition to providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups, I also provide clinical supervision to psychologists-in-training. If you are interested in clinical supervision toward licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina, please contact us.

I live in Raleigh with my spouse, my kids, and my dog, Frankie, who is a certified therapy dog. I enjoy spending my free time cooking and baking (and then enjoying the fruits of my labor!), volunteering with Frankie, traveling, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and sleeping (being a parent can be so exhausting!). It would be an honor and a privilege to work with you to achieve your behavioral health goals. I look forward to meeting you!
